MediStic Orthopaedic is an open source (with some limitations) medical database for Windows & Macintosh running with FileMaker. The system features record adding, editing, searching, report editing & printing. Other features include: importing multimedia & simple accounting. The system can also be used in a network environment (2 or more users), it is fast and easy to use. The major advantage of MediStic is it’s powerful find feature which can find records with simple text input in any number of fields, use of date ranges, using bigger or smaller comparisons and many other wildcards.
The system uses a 3-level type security, offering different access to sections for doctor, assistant and for administrator. You can download the source-files (file integrity check:openmedistic.md5) for free and the following are a few requirements you will need to have:
- a licensed copy of FileMaker Pro 5.5x (one for each desktop PC/Mac) or higher and a computer which can support the version of FileMaker you will install. There is also a Video that shows how to convert from the current version to a later FileMaker version.
- agree to the GNU-GPL public license (version 2 or later).
Why a license? Well, because the system was initially built with FileMaker, you are so required to have a copy to open the files. I have set a GNU-GPL License so that only the files can be freely available to the public, but if anyone wants to copy them to a third party they should follow the GNU-GPL License scheme.
Why a password? The solution is secured with 3 levels of users; administrator, normal user (doctor?) and a limited user (assistant?). Due to this fact, the internal development has been built around this security and to remove it, many things can go wrong.

The system is continuing it’s development and future releases will be uploaded when available. Feedback and issues should be sent so that features can be added or bugs can be fixed. Plans of re-creating the whole system in JAVA or C++ may be a future possibility.

Not many changes to this version, mostly recreation of graphics to be cross-platform compatible (hopefully) and some minor fixes not worth noting.
