If you must save some custom setting for a some reason, please drop us a reply here and we may help and show you how to do so, otherwise you will just need to reset the settings to what you had before the upgrade (rate & url). I'm using FilaMaker 8.x, how should I open the files of MediStic correctly ? Answer: This is quite simple. Open "My Computer" > "C-drive" and move to the MediStic folder under "C:\Program Files\MediStic\Ortho" and select the files: mainInfo.fp5, history.fp5, followup.fp5, multimedia.fp5, medrpt.fp5, accounts.fp5 - Then, drag-n-drop them on the FileMaker Pro icon on your desktop. - FileMaker opens and will confirm if you want to open the selected files (open all files and convert... should be selected), click Open. - Next step is to enter the password (if prompted) for each file to open and the program will be converted and opened in the new version of FileMaker. - Next time you open the program, you should only be asked once for a password. Why do you require a password to use the application ? Answer: The password is normally placed inside the compressed file called 'source.rar': source.rar\documentation\SourceDoc_v1.2.xml. Once you open/run this file (SourceDoc_v1.2.xml) in a browser, you should see the password column list on the right for each of the files. Clicking on the numbered links will show you the relevant file passwords. I entered the program and when I click inside a field, it constantly pops-up a message about what I need to input. Why? Answer: The program requires you enter a number. If you don't enter a number (even if it is a space) it pops-up a message stating you need to enter a number (can be decimal). Q2. The default link button to the on-line currency chart, takes me to a page with a few number conversions of EURO and CYP. How often are these numbers updated? Answer: The default on-line page retrieves dynamic data from a regularly updated website, but you may change the link (from Tools > Change Link) to whatever you wish for. Q3. How does the program save the information I change. Can I install the program on another computer and have my custom settings? Answer: No. The program can only keep information on the current computer it is run on. When you move/copy the program, it will create a new custom file (per user/computer). Q4. Can I set 4 trailing numbers after the decimal point? Answer: No. The program accepts and calculates with 2 decimal points, rounding off - i.e. if number is less than 5, it will round off at 0, if more than 5 it will increment to then next higher value. Q5. Can I get rid of the opening message box when you run the program? Answer: No, but it can be done in a future version if there are enough requests for it. Q6. Will there be another version with more features? Answer: If there is enough popularity, yes. It can also be destructive if care is not taken. There are a few main things that can possibly be done: <ul><li>backup to the default program location</li><li>backup to a selected location</li><li>restore from the default program location</li><li>restore from a backup file saved to a selected location</li></ul> Backup can be done by clicking on the Backup Copy button, which creates a backup in the default program location "C:\Program Files\ContaStic\backup". This can also be used to restore from this location. Be sure this is a recent verion of the records if you would do so. Manual backup can be done to any writable location: <ul><li>select the TOOLS menu > Backup records to file... option</li></ul> Manual restore can be done from a location which a backup was saved: <ul><li>select the TOOLS menu > Restore records from file... option</li></ul> Note: Restoring from a backup file overwrites the current records and there is nothing to undo this operation!
